HOW CREDITS POINTS AND QUALIFICATIONS ARE AWARDED

In line with major International Qualifications Frameworks (US, ACF/NQP, UK, QCF/RQF/Ofqual European EQF and Asean QF, etc), CISML Awards qualifications and units by credits.

  • Each unit has a credit value allocated to it, based on the weight of its outcomes and volume of contents
  • CISML operates essentially a Graduate and Post Degree Vocational and Professional Qualifications, covering levels 5, 6, 7 and 8 qualifications of most International Regulatory/Qualification Frameworks
  • One credit point roughly requires 10 learning hours (including personal study, guided teaching and researches), which allow the learners to evaluate how much time and effort they need to put into gain the desired qualification
  • To gain any of the diploma’s at any level, the learner must achieve at least 60 credits
  • The levels 5, 6, 7 and 8 represent the levels of difficulties, the size and title of the qualifications. Operates the following levels and titles of qualifications

CISML BLENDED LEARNING SCHEME

CISML, through its Accredited Qualifying Institutions (AQI), Accredited Learning Providers (ALP) and Approved Learning Centres (ALC) across the globe, delivers its learning and qualification programmes through a Blending Learning Scheme that ensures maximum flexibility and accessibility of the institute’s qualifications to learners.

The Blended Learning promotes voluntary combination of any of the following four learning options:

  1. Resource Based Distance Learning + Open Standard Classroom Teaching/Training Seminar/Workshop
  2. Resource Based Distance Learning + Open Accelerated Executive Training.
  3. Resource Based Learning + In-Company, Work- Based Training For Company Executives
  4. Resource Based Distance Learning + Independent Self Study

RESOURCE BASED DISTANCE LEARNING

The Resource Based Distance Learning component of the Blended Learning are achieved through one or a combination of three delivery channels:

  1. Physical Resources obtained from resource centres which could be the Approved Learning Centres. Resources include Study Packs Recommended Textbooks, Workbooks, DVD, Audio MP, CD ROMS and Video.
  2. Correspondence Study – where the physical resources are packed and moved to students in distant locations where Resource Centres or Approved Learning Centres do not exist.
  3. E-learning (Also called Web- Based Learning: where life and stored online resources ( texts, virtual life classroom, recorded online lectures, etc) are provided online.

FACE – TO – FACE BACK – UP LEARNING

The Face – to – Face Back – Up teachings and training usually take:

  1. Part-time 13 weekends, block release or 2 to 5 days intensive Accelerated course.
  2. Learners use the learning materials with guided supports from tutors/trainers.
  3. Guided support could take the form of coaching/counseling, phones, Skype’s, WhatsApp or Email or even online through Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
  4. Place of delivery could also be ALC’s hired classrooms, hired halls, in company training facilities and classrooms of partnering institutions.
  5. Integrated work- based, On – The - Job training or integrated academic education programme.

SUPPORTS FROM CISML AND AQI WEBSITES

CISML website has been developed and linked to AQI and APL to enable Approved Learning Centres (ALC) access further reading materials and career supports for the learners. Studying members should be informed of these opportunities or the career CARE can be used by the Approved Centre as part of the students orientation programme.

DURATION/CYCLE OF WORK

Cycle of time to cover the workload is flexible subject to a minimum of 13 weeks Blended Learning and Assessment Cycle for Standard Training, and two – five days intensive action oriented seminar/workshops for Accelerated Executive Training.

  • 10th - 11th weeks for Learning and Assessments from ALC
  • 12th weeks Multiple Choice Assessment from ALP/Distance Learning Centres
  • 13th week free/off Training

CISML STUDY MATERIALS

CISML has books and other learning resources which provide information on the contents and learning theories, activities, cases and workplace scenarios, which address each of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria of the qualification syllabi.

The books and other resources are either written and produced by CISML or recommended texts from Qualifying Institutions, Accredited Learning Providers or by other Scholars and Practitioners of Strategic Management and Leadership.

Each produced or recommended resource covers the best of current strategic management theory and practice. Each study material provides carefully selected range of illustrations, activities, cases to assist guided teaching, self study and assessments.

CISML has three documents which guide the learning providers and learners:

  • Syllabuses for each level of CISML Programmes
  • Study Materials – Packs, Textbooks, E-books, DVD and Web.

ABOUT CISML LEVEL 5 QUALIFICATIONS

AIMS:

These qualifications are designed for Undergraduate, Aspiring Frontline Officers, Assistant Managers, Associate Managers and those aspiring to play team and sectional management roles.

They provide and support learners in their development of knowledge, skills and abilities in specialist operational/management and leaderships, transferable skills and competences and strategic management fundamentals.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, candidates admitted to this programme should have sufficient mental and communication abilities to undertake the learning and assessment.

Specifically candidate in 300/400 levels of tertiary institutions, holders of National Diploma/Professional Diploma/National Certificate of Education and their Intermediate Professional Qualifications are eligible to apply for admission.

END QUALIFICATIONS

Upon the successful completion of the study and assessments, the candidate becomes eligible, upon the payment of appropriate award fees, for the award of:

  • Advanced Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership
  • Affiliate Member of CISML

EQUIVALENCES

CISML Level 5 Qualifications demonstrates practical skills and competencies in managing and leading oneself, individuals and small teams and are evaluated in academics as being internationally comparable to Associate Bachelors, High National Certificates and Professional Advanced Diploma.

After obtaining CISML Level 5 qualifications and affiliate membership, you can also continue your learning and progress on the following qualifications

They provide and support learners in their development of knowledge, skills and capabilities in operational and administrative management roles. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Besides having sufficient mental and communication abilities to undertake the learning and assessments, it is best for learner to be working or having worked within an organization where their roles and responsibilities will provide them with the opportunity to apply and demonstrate their knowledge, skills and performance abilities.

Specifically, Prior qualifications at Associate Bachelors, CISML Level 5, Advanced Diploma, or fresh graduate, 300/400 level student of tactical universities or other recognized professional bodies.

Specifically, applicants should hold any of the following qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree, Higher National Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma or Masters or equivalent Professional Qualifications with not less than three years work experience.

The courses provide and support learners in their development of practical skills, competences and capabilities in Strategic Strategy Development, Leadership Practices, Strategic Governance Practices and Organizational Growth Strategies

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Generally, the learner should have strong conceptual and communication capabilities. It is best for the learner to be working or to have worked at the top executive position in a corporation or government or owned and managed medium sized business.

Specifically, applicants should hold Bachelor or Master’s Qualifications and have not less than five years experience in Executiveship or Membership of Boards of Directors.

END QUALIFICATIONS

Upon the successful completion of their studies and assessments, they will become eligible, after the payment of appropriate award fees to CISML, to be awarded:

  • CISML Level 8 Doctorate Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Governance.
