CHARTERED STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONERS(CSMP)
The Chartered Strategic Management Practitioners (CSMP) is developed, branded customized and promoted by Strategic Business School (SBS) in collaboration with CISML as a special Continuous Professional Development Programmes for the licensing of members of Chartered Institute of Strategic Managers and Leaders,and other qualified members of other professional bodies in management disciplines.
The collaboration involves the joint assessment of CISML members and other management professionals and scholars on four practical criteria:
1. Personal/Professional Development: How the candidates have developed as managers,leaders or consultants over a minimum number of years.
2. Application of Knowledge and Skills: How they have applied their knowledge and skills to strategically managing resources, leading teams, managing projects, solving problems, managing changes, managing people, competition and how these have contributed to improvements in the sustainable performance of their organizations, over the past three to five years.
3. Lessons from Experiences: What they have learnt from their experiences and achievements as managers, leaders and consultants.
4. Future Professional Development Goals: How they plan to continue to develop their professional knowledge, skills and to achieve more in the future.
CISML and SBS constitute a Charter Assessment Committee (CAC) that is responsible for determining the assessment criteria, conducting all the Charter Assessment Submission Exercises (CASE) and presenting the successful candidates to the Institute for the Awards of Chartered Strategic Management Practitioners License.
The institute, on receiving the master list of successfully assessed candidates from the CAC, then prepares the various Charter Status Certificates/Licenses to be presented to the Awardees at a quarterly/half yearly Charter Award Lecture/ Dinner.
The Chartered Award Lecture/Dinner is an exclusive, action learning, experience sharing sessions, delivered by successful and renowned top scholars and leaders. Thus, this serves as a special Mandatory Continuous Professional Development Programme for members of the institute, and direct induction programme for qualified practicing managers,leaders and consultants who intend to become members of the institute and/or licensed Chartered Strategic Management Practitioners, at different levels.

WHO IS A CHARTERED STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONER
Chartered Strategic Management Practitioners are those who:

CHARTERED AWARDS: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS AND PROCESS
The General Procedure for achieving the Chartered Status has three phases:
1. Membership of Institute through Standard Qualifying Courses or Accelerated workshops or Direct Induction
2. Charter Assessment Submission Exercise (CASE)
3. Special CPD /Chartered Award/Networking Dinner
1) PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP OF THE INSTITUTE
i. Candidates that are existing members or newly inducted member of CISML.
ii. Candidates must have passed/ been exempted from the Standard Qualifying Examinations or participated in the Accelerated Qualifying workshop programme approved by the Council of the Institute or presented themselves as qualified for Direct Membership Induction.
iii. The qualified candidate has applied for admission and is inducted into/intends to be inducted into membership of the institute in any of the categories specified under its institute’s constitution and operating documents.
2) STANDARD CHARTER ASSESSMENT SUBMISSION EXERCISE (C.A.S.E)
The Charter Assessment Submission Exercises (CASE) are practice – based Assessments that evaluate the sufficiency of the candidate’s practical experience, personal and professional development activities and how they have applied their abilities in Managing Projects, Leading People, Solving Problems, Managing Change, and how those Capabilities have Contributed Positively to Improvement/Transformation of their Organization’s Performance in the last Three Years.
This process is available to Institute’s Members and other Professional Management Practitioners or scholars seeking to gain the Chartered Status, as part of Mandatory Continuous Professional Development.These assessments are done in two levels:
FIRST ASSESSMENT BY AAA
The completion of Charter Assessment Submission Exercise Form (C.A.S.E FORM) by Approved Associate Assessors (AAA)
1. You collect/download and fully complete the Charter Assessment Submission Exercise Form, and return to the closest AAA or DLAC with evidence of payment of the Charter Assessment Fee.
2. Your AAA/DLAC ensures that you fully understand the requirements for completing the Submission Exercise Form and that you have supplied sufficient information for successful Charter Assessment interview.
3. Associate Members (who have three or more years experience) will submit for Assessment as Chartered Strategic Manager (CSMgr), while Full Members and Fellows (with not less than ten years experience) will submit for Assessment for Chartered Strategic Manager and Leader (CSMgr L).
4. When your submission is reviewed by your AAA, and it does not meet the Chartered Award Criteria, you will be given feedback to enable you amend and resubmit, but you have the opportunity to amend and resubmit three times.
5. If after your third submission, the criteria are still not met, your AAA may refer/defer your application. But if your AAA is satisfied with your submission, your documents are sent to the appropriate Final Assessor to schedule and conduct your final Charter Assessment interview.
FINAL ASSESSMENT BY CAC MEMBERS These are conducted by the individual members of the Charter Assessment Committee (CAC), through oral face to face, or telephone or Skype interview/discussion
i. The Final Assessment is done by scheduled oral face to face or telephone or Skype interview/discussion by the Final Assessor as Scheduled by agreement between candidate and his/her allocated Final Assessor.
ii. You are interviewed based on the issues contained in your Charter Assessment Submission Form.
iii. The Final Assessor also wants to ascertain what you have learnt from your experiences and achievements and how you plan to continue to develop your professional skills and achieve more.
iv. If the Final Assessor is satisfied that you have scored 50% or above by the charter criteria, you will be recommended to be awarded the appropriate Chartered Status (CSMgr, CSMgr L, CSMPC or CF) and you will be provided a feedback of your success, immediately.
v. You will within 14 days receive an on-line notice of Provisional Chartered Award (PCA) and you will then be required to pay the appropriate CPD and Chartered Award/Dinner fees within the next two weeks from date of issue of PCA to designated Institute’s Bank Account through Draft/E-Transfer/Teller
3) CHARTERED AWARD PROCESS
3a) Learning and Practice Supports/Special CPD Programme:
SBS provides special CPD Courses to all persons who have been successfully assessed for the Chartered Awards and have made their appropriate payments for their Chartered Award level.
The Learning and Practice Supports are provided online as a Special Continuous Professional Development Programme from the SBS E-Learning platform.
The courses are carefully selected, integrated and tailored to meet the needs of persons engaged in the three levels of managers and leaders specified in this CSMP Scheme.
3b)CHARTERED AWARDS LECTURE/ DINNER
i. The CSMP Scheme of the institute will then prepare the various Chartered Status Awards ready for issue at the quarterly/half yearly CPD/ Chartered Award Lecture and Dinner.
The Institute shall award the license in its own name and logo to members who have been presented by CAC as successful at the Charter Assessment Submission Exercise (CASE) in a ceremony at the Chartered Award Lecture and Dinner.
ii. Every quarter/half yearly the Charter Assessment Committee (CAC) will organize special Lecture/Dinner for the award of Chartered Status (License/Plaque), Chartered Seal of Practice, Chartered Gazette, and Chartered Status Insignia, in a selected city in any of geopolitical regions. Chartered Seal of Practice and Chartered Insignia attract additional fees, and Special Dinner Table may also be purchased for family and friends.
iii. At the Chartered/Award Lecture and Dinner organized quarterly by CAC, the institute will present the Chartered Award Certificates to the Chartered Strategic Management Practitioners, in their different categories: CSMgr, CSMgr L, as customized.
iv. Two Lecture topics selected from four themes: (Strategic Management, Strategic Leadership, Strategic Governance and Strategic Performance Consulting) shall be delivered at each Award Lecture, followed by the Award ceremony and Networking Dinner.
v. The Award Lectures will be made of Action Intensive, experience sharing delivered by successful and renowned top scholars and leaders, so that it will add real life values to participants and serve as part of Special Mandatory Continuous Professional Development Programme.
vi. To add value to the holders of the certificates /license, the Institute’s Council will reposition holders of the certificates in the employment market as having the required knowledge, skills and character to be employed into middle, senior and top leadership positions, both in private and public sectors.
vii. The Chartered Status Certificates/license are renewable every five years, as a strategy that motivates the awardees to consciously engage in Continuous Professional Development and strive to make strategic performance impacts in their workplaces and fields.
CHARTERED STRATEGIC MANAGER (CSMgr)
1) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
*Associate membership of CISML and/or Practicing Manager.
*Recognized Professional and/or academic qualifications in management disciplines.
*Accepted Experience and achievement in Business, Management, Leadership or Consulting.
2) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Not less than THREE YEARS practical experience in management, leadership in Organization or Government Ministry, Department and Agency.
3) CHARTER ASSESSMENT REQUIRED
Chartered Institute of Strategic Managers and Leaders (CISML), Charter Assessment Submission Exercise and interview to describe how you have developed as a manager and leader and how you have applied your knowledge and skills to manage Resources, Projects, People, Competition and performance that improved the performance of your organization over the past 36 months, as well as what you have learnt from your experiences and achievements, and how you plan to continue to develop your professional skills and to achieve more in the future.
4)CHARTER ASSESSMENT AND CHARTERED AWARD FEES

Chartered Strategic Managers (CSMgr) Award:
(Payable to CISML designated bank account)

CHARTERED STRATEGIC MANAGER AND LEADER (CSMgr L)
a)At Least Full Membership of the CISML.
b)Holders of recognized professional and/or academic qualification in management field.
c) Accepted experience and achievements in business, management, leadership and consulting activities.
Not less than TEN YEARS Experience, with not less than THREE YEARS at Strategic Level in both Private and Public Sectors. 3.CHARTER ASSESSMENT REQUIRED :
Charter Submission and Assessment/Interview to describe and discuss how you have developed as Strategic Manager and Leader, and how you have applied your Knowledge and Skills to Solve Strategic Problems, Strategic Human Performance, Strategic Advantage and Strategic Change that have contributed positively to the organizations competitiveness, and Sustainable Performance over the last 36 months (3 years).
4.ASSESSMENT AND CHARTERED AWARD FEES :

CHARTERED STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE CONSULTANT (CSMPC™)
1) QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
a)Possession of SBS’s CSMPC or Full Member or Fellow of a recognized Professional Consulting Body (such, IMC, CMC)
b)Possession of Advanced Proficiencies and/or Academic or Professional Qualifications in a Particular Management Area, Exemptions will be granted for courses in any or some of the courses included in the Conversion Programme.
c)Possession of Advanced Proficiencies and/or Qualifications in any Discipline of Consulting Interest plus successful completion of SBS Conversion Courses
2) EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least ten years relevant practical experience, with at least three years in consulting or training practice
3) CHARTER ASSESSMENT REQUIRED
Chartered strategic management and performance consultant submission and assessment/interview to describe and discuss how you have developed as consultant and how you have applied your expertise to develop and implement training and solutions in your specialist areas which have contributed positively to repositioning, building advantage and improving the performance of your organization or client organization within the past three years.
4) ASSESSMENT AND CHARTERED AWARD FEES
